Part Time Caregiver Needed in McLean, VA (Flexible Schedule | Alzheimer’s Care)
We are looking for a kind, patient, and reliable caregiver to support my mother in an assisted living faciality in McLean, VA. She has moderate to severe Alzheimer’s, but her personality is very sweet, gentle, and pleasant. She responds best to calm, friendly people who enjoy companionship and providing structure.
We need someone who can work part time with some flexibility:
• Thursday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• Depending on how many hours you want to work can offer more hours.
Responsibilities
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, meal prep, hydration, and safety
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Keep her engaged with simple activities (music, conversation, short walks, etc.)
• Light housekeeping related to her care
• Maintain a calm, reassuring environment
Ideal Candidate
• Kind, patient, and dependable
• Experience with dementia or Alzheimer’s is a plus, but not required
• Willing to learn—there are many excellent free online videos that teach how to care for someone with Alzheimer’s (Teepa Snow, Alzheimer’s Association, etc.)
• Comfortable with long shifts
