The space:
1 bedroom available in spacious 2-bed, 1-bath apartment. You have 2 large double-door closets all to yourself, one in the room and one in the hall. Lots of natural light in room. Apartment was originally designed to be wheelchair-accessible, so the rooms are slightly bigger than other units in the complex. Washer and dryer in unit. Ample, free parking right outside our door. Garden-style apartments (just 2 levels high), and we are on the first floor. Apartment is located 0.7 miles from Ballston & Virginia Square metro stations. Multiple bus lines available ½ block from apartment. All amenities within 2 blocks, including 2 grocery stores, CVS, post office, and places to eat. Ballston Quarter and all the fun things it has to offer is just 0.5 miles away.
About me:
I’m a 40-year-old female who highly values my Christian faith and church. I work for myself part-time as a mental health counselor in my own private office, and two days a week I work for the Treasury Department as a gov’t employee. I’m friendly, warm, love to cook, love to paint, and am moderately extroverted while also being moderately introverted. 🙂 I’m a clean, comfortable, communicative roommate. I enjoy having my own space and quiet time in the house, and I also enjoy connecting. It’s all a balance. I’m dating a very sweet and kind man who lives in NC, so I will be gone for a week or so at a time, and would like to ask you to be open to him visiting us too. (No worries about premarital sex happening and you and I can discuss boundaries as I’d want you to feel happy and comfortable in the home.)
About you:
Looking for a Christian female with steady income. **Tidy** I really do have a place for everything and everything in its place, at least in the common areas. So it’s really important to me that you keep the place looking nice too and help with tending to the apartment as needed (cleaning-wise). Communication is a must, too; I’m happy to talk about anything regarding our space rather than either of us keeping it bottled inside. I’d like for us to be able to create a clean, comfortable, peaceful, and connected home. 🙂 No drug use or anything else that could cause me to lose my security clearance, please.
Cost/other details:
-Room is available October 1st, though move-in date is flexible. My current roommate may be gone before September 30th, depending upon her new job schedule. I’d like to get someone in by November 1st.
-Rent is $1050/month for each of us. Utilities (electric and internet) are separate and will be about an additional $70-100/month (your half). FYI that I like to keep the apartment on the cooler side because I find that more comfortable.
-I’d like to know you’re staying for at least a year (the apartment complex will have us sign a lease together).
-You’ll pay a $40 application fee to the apartment complex and a $150 refundable deposit. You’ll also pay a yearly fee of about $75-$85 for our renter’s insurance.
-No pets or smoking.
