The house is located on a quiet block in the otherwise vibrant neighborhood of Historic Anacostia. It’s a 4-minute walk to Anacostia metro station, which is one stop from Navy Yard (Nats park, DC United Audi Field, Harris Teeter, Blue Jacket, etc) on the Green Line. The house is approximately a 10-minute drive from the US Capitol.
It’s also a short walk to local eateries (Busboys & Poets, Kitchen Savages, Atlas Brew Works/Andy’s Pizza, Turning Natural juice bar + more), cultural attractions (Anacostia Arts Center, Anacostia Playhouse, etc) and parks (Frederick Douglass National Historic Site, Anacostia Riverwalk Trail, etc).
The House
The house is a recently renovated, light-filled brick rowhome with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. It features a well-stocked kitchen and plenty of common space. One off-street parking spot will also be available for a nominal fee if desired.
The Room
The bedroom (10′ x 10′) is bright and airy with a medium size closet. The room comes fully furnished with a full-size bunk bed, desk, chair, reading chair, ottoman, lamps and rug. The bathroom upstairs is shared with one other roommate.
The Housemates
The current housemates are Christian young professionals in their 20s and 30s – three guys in the upper house and a female in the basement. All of them enjoy being active in the local church and are seeking to build a strong sense of community in the house.
The Details
Rent is $720 + share of utilities. The room is available in early September for a 12-month lease. A late August move-in may also be possible.
