Grammar and Mechanics Essentials Tutoring
Who is this for?
The child who continues to struggle with the basics of grammar and mechanics, whether it’s misunderstanding parts of speech, writing in incomplete sentences, or regularly misusing periods and commas. Appropriate for any student from confused 4th grader to the rising highschooler who wants to strengthen foundations.
What?
Basic grammar, writing and mechanics support through a diagramming based approach.
When?
Tuesday/Thursday 3:10-4:10 (days possibly flexible)
Tutoring is twice a week to ensure excellent results.

Cost?
$125/week or $70/class for up to two absences After that full week price applies.

Why will this help?
Diagramming lends clarity and simplicity to the different tasks of words. The concrete approach often lends a hand to the students’ struggle to connect concept to application. Mechanics will be taught alongside the concepts covered in diagramming.
What will be achieved?
Students will come away with more confidence in their abilities to understand and master basic skills. They will properly identify and use the parts of speech, self-edit if they compose an incomplete sentence, and accurately use commas, period, and proper capitalization. Over time students’ writing becomes more complex and their reading comprehension sharpens.
What will it look like?
These will be high energy, high engagement, hands-on tutoring sessions. We chant lists, physically interact with the ideas and regularly alternate with activities that build on each other. We will use sweet treats during class. Please contact me with any food or allergy concerns.
